Encanto Kids Camp

A day camp experience inspired by the Disney movie

Centered around the gifts that everyone brings, the diversity in families and the gift of community

A partnership between Christ on Capitol Hill Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church

Camp is limited to 30 children

A day at Camp

What you can expect:

  • Move around throughout the day to sing, dance and create art

  • Devotionals  will focus on each participant’s gift and how the variety of our gifts benefit the community

A capstone performance on the last day of camp is an opportunity for parents and families to see and hear the sounds of camp.

Meet the Camp Staff

Natalia Peterson

Natalia is the Music Director for Christ on Capitol Hill Lutheran Church. She was a pre-school instructor of music, theatre and dance in the Washington, D.C. area. She is the composer of the children's album, Completely Me and the Telly Award winning music for LibraryLand, a multimedia educational product for children. She has taught numerous musical theater summer camps with Youth Performance Company, Lyric Arts, and Steppingstone Theater in the Twin Cities area. Over the span of her music career, Natalia has music directed over two dozen musicals and has performed onstage in musical theater and as a solo vocalist and pianist. Her composition and performance of her one-woman show, A Surrender to Love, was performed at the History Theater in St. Paul.

Laura Delventhal

Laura (she/her) is a local theatre artist, educator, and administrator, based in the Minnesota for the last fifteen years. Laura was the Education Manager for Theatre Arts Training at Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) from 2012-2019, and currently works as a Teaching Artist throughout the Twin Cities. She has taught classes for CTC, Stages Theatre, Minnesota Association for Children's Mental Health, Art's Nest, SteppingStone Theatre, and Oddfellows Playhouse. As an educator, Laura specializes in classical theatre, advanced acting and script analysis, and early childhood creative play. Local artistic credits include (Actor) Delve Theatre, A.R.T. (Advanced Real Theatre), Theatre Unbound, Synapse Theater; (Director) Fidgety Fairy Tales, Little Lifeboats, CTC's Theatre Arts Training; (Producer) Delve Theatre. When not at the theatre, Laura fills her days with political advocacy, mosaic and textile art, and even acts as the business manager for a small board game company.

Tahnea Brown

Arts Curator

Tahnea (she/her) is an artist, administrator, small business owner, and community changemaker. As an artist, Tahnea specializes in textiles, painting, jewelry-making, and papercrafts. You can find her small business Melanin Mamma Magic selling at various maker markets around town. Tahnea is also an administrator for numerous St. Paul non-profits. She serves two congregations, acting as Communications & Office Administrator at Christ on Capitol Hill and Office Manager at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Tahnea is also the Program Coordinator for Love First Community Engagement, a non-profit dedicated breaking the school to prison pipeline with Black joy. In her spare time, she works Front of House for Penumbra Theatre and volunteers with the Girl Scouts and with Rebuilding the Village non-profit that supports families and connects them with resources.

Some additional information

What to wear?

Dress in comfortable clothes.  Wear shoes to move around in (no sandals; no flip flops).

What about lunch? Snacks? Water? 

Children will bring their own lunches. We provide a morning snack. Children should bring their own (labeled!) water bottles each day and fill them from the fountains.

A word about fees.

How can I make a donation to help with scholarships?

Our scholarship program is funded by donations.  When you register, you will have an opportunity to make a tax-deductible contribution to help make scholarships available.  Thank you for considering!

How can I volunteer to help with camp?

The camp co-directors will be assisted by youth volunteers in 7th through 12th grades.  We need 12 assistants.  Click here to sign up.
