Three years ago, Isaura arrived from Venezuela with her husband and three-year-old daughter after a difficult journey through jungles, forests and deserts. They came seeking safety and the chance to build a new life.

In Minnesota, Isaura connected with Interfaith Action’s Faithful Hospitality program. Within five months, her family had moved into an apartment of their own.

Isaura kept moving forward—completing childcare and Personal Care Assistant training, First Aid certification and financial literacy classes. Her dream is to one day open a daycare of her own.

Today, Isaura no longer needs Interfaith Action’s programs. But she hasn’t left the community that helped her. She volunteers when help is needed and recently helped celebrate a new group of Career Pathways graduates.

She arrived needing a community to stand beside her. Now, she is standing beside others.
